The Altroz iCNG paired to an AMT transmission is available from Tata Motors for ₹8.69 lakh (ex-showroom). There will be five different trim levels available for the Altroz’s iCNG trim. The Pure, Pure S, Creative, Creative S, and Accomplished S are among them. With this modification, the Tata Altroz is now the only high-end hatchback available in India with an AMT and a CNG drivetrain.

Tata Altroz iCNG AMT: Performance and engine options
The 1.2-liter Revotron iCNG engine powers the hatchback. It generates 103 Nm and 72.5 bhp in CNG mode. For the first time, Tata has combined this configuration with an AMT, which should facilitate driving in congested urban areas. Additionally, the business claims that the car’s single sophisticated ECU facilitates a seamless transition between gasoline and CNG modes.
Space, design, and safety of the Tata Altroz iCNG AMT
A functional 210-liter boot in CNG mode is made possible by Tata’s twin-cylinder iCNG configuration, which keeps the cylinders beneath the luggage floor. The Altroz’s 345-liter trunk is available for both gasoline and diesel models. HARMAN’s Ultra View 10.25-inch twin digital screens, infinity-connected LED tail lamps, LED headlamps with DRLs, and flush door handles are all included in the cabin.
A crucial component of the package is still safety. The Altroz, which is built on the ALFA platform using ultra-high-strength steel, has a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating for its gasoline, diesel, and compressed natural gas versions. Six airbags, ESP, ISOFIX, reverse parking sensors, a 360-degree HD surround vision system, tire pressure monitoring, auto headlights, and LED fog lamps are all standard equipment.
“CNG is the fastest-growing fuel choice in the country, with 19% penetration in FY25 and 22% in FY26, and this growth is no longer limited to traditional markets, with new regions contributing significantly to adoption,” said Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer at Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd.
“We are meeting a definite and expanding consumer need for more convenience in CNG vehicles with the addition of AMT to the iCNG lineup. With this addition, Altroz is now the most adaptable and high-end product in its class, giving the ideal mix of practicality, efficiency, and simplicity of driving without sacrificing room or safety,” he continued.
