Nothing is preparing to release the Phone 4b, a more affordable smartphone, on July 7. Additionally, the company has recently revealed something unexpected: a special edition of the smartphone, created in collaboration with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru cricket team, would be released alongside it. The partnership isn’t totally unexpected because Nothing is an RCB sponsor, but it does add some intrigue to the Phone 4b debut.
According to an Instagram post where RCB gamers were presented with two design options and asked to select one, the RCB Edition looks to have a red finish. The players appeared to like the red version; however, the final decision hasn’t been formally announced. That would go along with the colourways that were already leaked a few days ago—black, white, and blue.
Additionally, Nothing’s new ‘b’ series, which is positioned as a more reasonably priced entry point into the Nothing ecosystem, makes its debut with the Phone 4b. Registration for the phone has not yet been opened on its official website, and it is anticipated that the handset will make its worldwide debut at the July 7 event at 4 p.m. IST, coinciding with its introduction in India.
Details of the Nothing Phone 4b
Although the business hasn’t yet revealed the precise chip, Nothing has verified that the Phone 4b would be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU. In comparison to earlier mid-range chips, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 is expected to increase daily performance, battery economy, and on-device AI processing, according to leaks and a recent Geekbench listing.
The phone is anticipated to have 8GB of RAM, 128GB or 256GB of storage, and a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz.
It is said to have a dual back camera configuration with a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 16-megapixel front camera for taking selfies. Additionally, it is anticipated that the handset would come pre-installed with Nothing OS, which is based on Android 16, making it one of the first phones to use Google’s most recent operating system.
The current article’s battery capacity is a little different from previous leaks; tipster Yogesh Brar suggests a 5,400mAh cell.
In terms of cost, the Phone 4b is anticipated to be less expensive than the Phone (4a), which has a starting price of Rs. 37,999. Reports suggest that the Phone 4b would cost about Rs 30,000. Nothing will verify every aspect during the launch event on July 7.
