corporate connect global – The nominees for the 82nd Golden Globe Awards are here, showcasing a mix of former child stars and unexpected surprises.
Actors Mindy Kaling and Morris Chestnut revealed the 2025 list of nominees, with the musical Emilia Pérez leading the pack with an impressive 10 nominations.
Among the nominees are Ariana Grande and Selena Gomez, both former Nickelodeon and Disney stars, who earned recognition for their recent work. Grande received a nod for her role in Wicked, while Gomez earned nominations for Emilia Pérez and her hit Hulu series Only Murders in the Building.
This year’s nominations also include surprising contenders, such as Pamela Anderson, who secured a nomination for Best Actress in a Drama for her role in The Last Showgirl. Fans have long called for greater recognition of Anderson’s acting career, especially after years of being overlooked and objectified.
Another unexpected nominee is Jamie Foxx, nominated for Best Performance in a Stand-Up Special for Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was, which debuts on Netflix. He faces stiff competition from Nikki Glaser, who will also be hosting the Golden Globe ceremony.
In addition, Hollywood icons Viola Davis and Ted Danson will receive the prestigious Cecil B. DeMille Award and Carol Burnett Award, respectively, for their outstanding contributions to the entertainment industry.
The 2025 Golden Globe Awards will take place on January 5, airing live on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.
