New Delhi: With the introduction of the new entry-level electric scooter Reo VYB, which is aimed at first-time EV consumers and urban commuters, Ampere has taken another step toward its electric two-wheeler expansion in India. The scooter was introduced at a discounted price of Rs 69,499 in order to meet consumer demand for economical, effective, and secure mobility as well as to support the company’s rapid growth in the low-speed electric scooter market.
The lithium ferrophosphate (LFP) battery that powers the Reo VYB is known for having better thermal stability and a longer lifespan than traditional battery packs. With a claimed maximum range of 80 km per charge and a reported maximum speed of 25 km/h, the scooter is suitable for nearly all city commuters and may be ridden without a driver’s license in many regions of the nation.
Designed for daily commuting in cities
For short-distance travels, the new Ampere Reo VYB is intended to be a sensible option, especially for students and commuters who work or attend college. It has a fresh appearance and is available in four colors: Aqua Metallic, Warm White, Pastel Purple, and Dark Grey.
The under-seat storage box, a 24-liter scooter compartment, has enough space for daily necessities. To improve convenience and safety, further features include a front disc brake, LED headlamps and tail lamps, a high-quality key fob with keyless start, and a color LCD digital instrument cluster.
A longer life is promised by an LFP battery.
The Reo VYB has an LFP battery pack installed by Ampere, which claims to have a 100,000 km lifespan. The scooter is equipped with an electric hub motor that can travel up to 80 kilometers on a full charge.
The Reo VYB is small enough to manage on the road and has telescopic front suspension and a damper rear suspension to improve ride quality. Additionally, a conventional rider footrest is included with the scooter.
The business anticipates demand from smaller cities.
In response to the unveiling, Vikas Singh, Managing Director of Greaves Electric Mobility, stated that India’s urban mobility needs are changing as consumers look for affordable and environmentally responsible options. Additionally, he stated that the company anticipates that demand for low-speed electric scooters will continue to climb as EV penetration increases in Tier II or Tier III cities and the need for last-mile mobility increases.
According to Singh, the Reo VYB was created to improve Ampere’s e-scooter portfolio while also meeting commuters’ everyday practical needs.
Availability, service support, and warranty
The Reo VYB comes with a 3-year or 30,000-kilometer guarantee from Ampere. Over 400 service touchpoints are part of Ampere Care’s after-sales network in India, and clients may get customer support around-the-clock.
The Reo VYB is an illustration of Ampere’s commitment to producing dependable, affordable, and safe EVs to promote EV adoption across the country, according to the business, which has more than 17 years of experience in electric vehicle technology.
