National Award-winning actor Rishab Shetty has unveiled the first poster of his highly anticipated film, The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, on February 19. Marking the 395th birth anniversary of the legendary warrior king, the Kantara star Rishab shetty shared his pride in portraying Shivaji Maharaj. Scheduled for release on January 21, 2027, the film promises to be a grand historical tribute. In an interview, Shetty called it an “honor” to bring the Maratha ruler’s story to life on the big screen.

Rishab Shetty expressed his deep admiration for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, stating that the warrior king’s life and legacy have always fascinated him. Calling it a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, he shared that portraying such a revered historical figure fills him with immense pride. Shetty emphasized that bringing Shivaji Maharaj’s story to the big screen is not just an acting role but an honor, as it allows him to celebrate the Maratha ruler’s extraordinary legacy through cinema.
Pritam will compose the music, while Prasoon Joshi will write the lyrics. Sandeep Singh will direct the film.

Rishab will also play Hanuman in Prasanth Varma’s Jai Hanuman, a follow-up to his successful superhero flick HanuMan. Rishab is also directing and starring in the prequel of Kantara, Kantara: Chapter 1. The film is scheduled for release later this year.
