While the majority of 13-year-olds worldwide are occupied with creating videos for social media or chatting about the newest trends, some have been following their passions long enough to make them lucrative ventures. One of these few is a prodigy of Indian descent whose remarkable trip has gone viral on the internet.
Jainam Jain, a 14-year-old, founded Mengo Engine, an artificial intelligence startup, and even has an office in Dubai’s renowned Burj Khalifa.
A difficult upbringing
When Jainam Jain was about five years old, his family relocated to Dubai from Pune, India, where he was born. In an interview with Emirates 24/7, he talked about his upbringing in a book-filled environment where he and his younger sister were inspired to aim high without fear of failure.
He described how, after attending a business meeting with his father at the age of six, he developed an interest in technology and business. This modest aspiration ignited a fire inside him and his sister that would not go out. The brother-sister pair decided to attend 50 networking events in 50 days one summer to have a better understanding of relationship-building, communication, and presentation techniques. They set a goal for themselves to achieve 50 self-improvement goals in another year.
A worthwhile trip
The twins traveled throughout Maharashtra in 2022 to inspire 50,000 people by holding 100 motivational events in 50 days, but they ended up surpassing their goal. “We completed 120 events, traveled over 6,000 kilometers, and reached over 50,000 people in 50 days,” he recounted.
They gave talks about public speaking, entrepreneurship, and personal growth in schools, colleges, NGOs, and organizations. It was challenging. We became ill multiple times. We were on the road all the time,” he remarked. “But it altered our perception of what was feasible.”
An aspiring YouTuber
Jainam was a YouTuber before to starting his own AI business. Under the name JJ Fun Time, he and his sister started a YouTube channel at age 7 that initially featured toy unpacking videos before progressively switching to science experiments.
The channel gained over 100,000 subscribers in just three months. Schools started asking the siblings to talk about their experiences and give demonstrations. They progressively shifted into motivational speaking in addition to content creation.
“Our parents always encouraged us to try when we were growing up,” Jainam remarked. “Taking the initiative is crucial, even if things don’t work out.”
Early school completion
When Jainam was twelve years old, he started looking into the possibility of finishing school early. He quickly discovered that children of any age could take the IGCSE exams thanks to the Cambridge pathway. He found a Jaipur school that was eager to help, and after about 105 days of study and tests, he finished Grade 10 at the age of 13. The same task was taken on by his younger sister. At the age of ten, she reached the same milestone. The two got viral at the same time for purchasing the Jio Hotstar domain from a software engineer in Delhi.
Becoming a business owner in AI
The next step is always a nagging question for a mind as keen and curious as Jainam’s. Mengo, a tool he refers to as an AI co-founder for businesses, was the solution. Through a single business profile, the startup hopes to automate operations related to marketing, lead nurturing, sales, content creation, newsletters, websites, communications, and customer engagement.
He revealed that some 100 companies have joined the waiting list even though the product is still in development. Despite describing the firm as essentially a one-person operation, Jainam claims his father is a co-founder due to age-related regulatory constraints. He stated, “I concentrate on the operations and the product.” Interestingly, Jainam claims he has never finished an official AI course.
He declared, “I haven’t taken any formal AI courses.” “Most of it came from staying curious, learning from YouTube, and experimenting with products.”
He currently works from an office on the 141st floor of Dubai’s tallest structure, the Burj Khalifa.
In response to a question regarding his future plans, he stated that his goals extend beyond becoming an entrepreneur. He declared, “I want to be someone who inspires others to believe they can do something different.” “Whether that’s via technology, business, or anything else.”
What about his plans to go back to school and finish his secondary education? He claims to be undecided. “I haven’t given it much thought as of yet,” he remarked. “I’m concentrating on the startup. When the time comes, I suppose I’ll give it some thought.
