In the last week, Apple launched a number of new products, including the MacBook Neo, which is its most reasonably priced model. But according to sources, the Cupertino behemoth plans to add additional high-end smartphones in addition to expanding its entry-level range.
According to a Bloomberg story, Apple is developing three “Ultra” devices—that is, new gadgets that will be superior to the company’s current offerings rather than merely updates. Everything you require is provided here.
iPhone fold
One of the only biggest producers of smartphones without a foldable model is Apple. However, that is about to change. For a while now, there have been rumors circulating about the iPhone fold. Additionally, when the smartphone is released, it will be positioned above the Pro Max iPhone.
As per sources, the foldable iPhone would include a 5.5-inch exterior panel and a 7.8-inch crease-less OLED inside screen. The smartphone will feature a small, book-like form factor, which is very different from gadgets like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, according to leaked renderings.
The A20 Pro chipset, which has four cameras overall and a battery that may be more than 5,500mAh, is anticipated to power the iPhone fold.
Alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, the foldable iPhone is expected to ship in September 2026. In terms of pricing, rumours indicate that the device may be priced at $2,400 (roughly Rs 2,15,000) in the US. For comparison, the starting price of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 in India is Rs 1,74,999.
OLED MacBook Pro
There may soon be a significant display improvement for the MacBook Pro. According to reports, Apple intends to add touch capabilities and an OLED display to the MacBook Pro. This would be the first MacBook to include a touchscreen, if rumors are true.
The next-generation M6 Pro and M6 Max processors, which use a new 2nm technology, are probably going to be used in the OLED MacBook Pro. However, this new panel might not be available for the basic M6 MacBook Pro.
Dynamic Island, a new dynamic interface, and larger controls to enhance touch usage are anticipated features of the rumored OLED MacBook Pro models. Keep in mind that Steve Jobs, one of Apple’s co-founders, was never a fan of Macs with touchscreens.
Similar to earlier OLED transitions seen in the iPhone X and iPad Pro, this high-end MacBook Pro is rumored to sit above the existing M5 Pro and M5 Max variants and bring a price rise. However, whether the new gadgets will be referred to as “MacBook Ultra” is unknown. For comparison, the starting price of the MacBook Pro with the M5 Max processor is Rs 3,99,900.
Next-gen AirPods
Apple is reportedly developing next-generation AirPods as well to the foldable iPhone and OLED MacBook Pro. There are rumors that the upcoming AirPods will include infrared cameras that will give Siri visual intelligence data.
With the “AirPods Ultra” moniker, this would put the new AirPods at the top of the list.
As opposed to taking pictures or videos, there are rumors that the AirPods will employ infrared (IR) cameras to better comprehend the user’s surroundings for AI-powered functions. This update aligns with Apple’s larger focus on Apple Intelligence, which will receive a significant boost this year through Gemini. A Live Translate option for AirPods was unveiled by the firm last year.
It’s unknown if the cost of the new AirPods will increase. For comparison, the price of the AirPods Pro 3 in India is Rs 25,900.
