- Gets subtle design tweaks and a few feature additions
- Continues with Honda Sensing ADAS and the 1.5-litre petrol engine
With prices starting at Rs. 12 lakh (ex-showroom), Honda Cars India has finally unveiled the redesigned City sedan. Honda has updated the City sufficiently to maintain it competitive in a market that is becoming more and more competitive, even though this is not a complete generational shift.
Updated Exterior Design and Feature Additions
The majority of the modifications are aesthetic. Up front, the sedan receives new alloy wheels, an updated grille, and a modified bumper design. Additionally, Honda has made some adjustments to the LED lighting components, making the City appear slightly crisper and cleaner than it did previously. However, it’s still clearly a City, and that’s likely precisely what Honda intended.
The feature list has undergone some changes, but the inside layout is still the same. The sedan still has a sunroof, a computerized driver’s display, a huge touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, and linked car technology. During the presentation, Honda also discussed the ADAS package, with the City still providing the Honda Sensing suite.
Engine and Powertrain Remain Unchanged
Nothing has changed mechanically. The 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine seen in the new City is still available with both manual and CVT gearbox options. This time, Honda hasn’t made any changes to the powertrain, indicating that the emphasis was more on enhancing the car’s overall appeal than on completely reimagining it.
Key Highlights of the 2026 Honda City Facelift
New alloy wheels, enhanced connected capabilities, updated front-end appearance, and the ongoing use of ADAS technology are some of the facelift’s main attractions. This is anticipated to make the City stand out in the market for midsize sedans.
