On May 25, Oppo plans to introduce the Oppo Reno 16 series in China. The Oppo Reno 16 and Oppo Reno 16 Pro smartphones are anticipated to be part of the portfolio. Alongside the Oppo Pad 6, Oppo Enco Air 5s, and Oppo Bubble, a selfie display attachment, the series will make its debut.
To enhance consumer enthusiasm, the brand has begun teasing the next smartphones ahead of the launch of the Reno 16 series. Pre-orders for the series are already being accepted in China, and it will be available in a variety of colors and storage configurations.
Expected features and specs for the Oppo 16 series
According to leaks, the regular Reno 16 may come with a 6.32-inch flat OLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and 1.5K resolution. On the other hand, a larger 6.78-inch flat OLED panel with comparable display characteristics is anticipated for the Reno 16 Pro.
MediaTek’s Dimensity 8550 chipset is anticipated to power the Reno 16, whereas the more recent and potent Dimensity 9500s CPU may power the Reno 16 Pro.
According to rumors, the corporation might release a more sophisticated Pro Mini version in the future, much like it did with the last iteration.
This year, an increase in battery capacity is also anticipated. The Reno 16 might have a 6,700mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging, while the Pro model might have an even bigger 7,000mAh battery that supports 50W wireless and 80W cable charging. In contrast, 6,500mAh batteries were included with both the Reno 15 and Reno 15 Pro.
Both smartphones are expected to use the same triple back camera configuration, which consists of a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with OIS, and a 200-megapixel Samsung HP5 main sensor with OIS. Both models are anticipated to have a 50-megapixel front-facing camera.
In terms of design, OPPO might use metal frames, and all of the lineup might be equipped with an IP69 rating, water resistant, and dust resistance. Additionally, there are rumors that the Reno 16 series will introduce a new “Snap Key” feature that will enable users to initiate shortcuts and rapid activities. This feature is supposed to function similarly to the Plus Key found on recent OnePlus smartphones.
Three colors—Galaxy Purple, Heartbeat, and Moonlight Is Dark—as well as five storage options—12GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB, 16GB/256GB, and 16GB/512GB—are anticipated for the Oppo Reno 16. A 16GB/1TB model is at the top of the lineup for people who don’t want to hear the phrase “storage full” ever again.
