No Hotel Rooms for Unmarried Couples in This City: OYO’s Policy Explained

According to people with knowledge of the situation, the corporation may decide to expand the policy to other cities based on input from the ground.
According to reports, civil society organizations have already asked OYO for actions to solve this problem, especially in Meerut.
According to sources, citizens of other cities have also petitioned for a rule that would prohibit unmarried couples from booking rooms at OYO hotels.
“Civil society organizations, particularly in Meerut, have already provided input to OYO requesting action to solve this issue. Residents of a few other cities have also petitioned to ban unmarried couples from checking in at OYO hotels, the statement read.
This initiative by OYO intends to change its antiquated perceptions and project itself as a brand capable of providing a safe experience for families, students, business, religious, and lone travelers, according to Pawas Sharma, Region Head, OYO North India.
OYO has implemented a number of national programs, including holding joint seminars on safe hospitality practices with law enforcement and hotel partners, blacklisting establishments that support unethical behavior, and taking action against unapproved hotels that use OYO branding.
