OpenAI Hires Its First Indian Employee: Pragya Misra

As per a report by Bloomeberg, Chat GPT developers OpenAI appoints its first employee in India. As per the report 39 year old Pragya Misra is being appointed as the head of Government Relations unit and is set to join the company by the end of the month.
However OpenAI is yet to announce Pragya Misra’s onboarding officially.
OpenAI is already facing competition from other free AI players from the international as well as domestic sphere. So, this move will significantly evolve Artificial Intelligence administration and regulations particularly in India expanding its user base as compared to its competitors in India.
Misra has previously worked with Truecaller as the Director of Public Affairs since July 2021. Before that Misra worked with Meta Platforms Inc., where she headed WhatsApps project to curb misinformation in 2018. Apart from all these she has also worked with Ernst & Young (EY) and the Royal Danish Embassy in New Delhi.
As per the information linked on her LinkdIn Pragya Misra is a commerce graduate from Delhi University, later she completed her MBA from the International Management Institute in 2012. Further she did a course in bargaining and negotiations from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Apart from her professional and academic graph, she has an outstanding graph in sports as well, and has represented India at several International Tournaments between 1998 to 2007.
