Hero MotoCorp’s shares increased by about 3% on Thursday following the company’s announcement of two new flex-fuel motorcycles that can run on gasoline mixed with up to 85% ethanol.
In front of Nitin Gadkari and Hardeep Singh Puri, the motorcycles were unveiled in New Delhi ahead of World Environment Day.
Hero MotoCorp launched the Splendor+ Flex Fuel and HF Deluxe Flex Fuel models in an effort to provide more environmentally friendly and sustainable mobility options.
The company’s shares increased by up to 3% to Rs 4,850.40 on the NSE after the announcement.
The business claims that the Splendor+ Flex Fuel costs Rs 82,710 in Delhi, while the HF Deluxe Flex Fuel is priced at Rs 72,792 (ex-showroom Delhi).
The government’s initiatives to promote the use of ethanol and lessen reliance on imported fossil fuels are supported by the motorcycles’ ability to run on gasoline blends ranging from E20 to E85.
According to Hero MotoCorp, the flex-fuel lineup would launch in Delhi and a few areas of Maharashtra starting in July 2026, followed by a phased nationwide rollout.
The new versions, according to the business, are a practical and reasonably priced mobility solution that improves the environment without sacrificing performance.
The launch, according to Hero MotoCorp, is in line with India’s larger sustainability objectives, which include lowering the country’s carbon intensity by 45% by 2030.
The launch of flex-fuel motorcycles coincides with India’s acceleration of its ethanol blending program and its encouragement of automakers to create vehicles that can run on greater ethanol mixes as part of the nation’s energy transition plan.
