The 5.3-magnitude Telangana earthquake that strikes Mulugu is felt in Hyderabad and Andhra Pradesh.
According to the National Center for Seismology, a 5.3-magnitude earthquake occurred Wednesday morning in Telangana’s Mulugu district, with vibrations also being felt in Hyderabad and some areas of Andhra Pradesh. When the earthquake struck at 7:27 AM, locals became terrified.
After the earthquake, there were no immediate reports of serious damage or injuries. While experts have recommended locals to remain vigilant and steer clear of crowded or dangerous structures during tremors, authorities are currently evaluating the situation.
The following was posted on X by the National Center for Seismology: “EQ of M: 5.3, On: 04/12/2024 07:27:02 IST, Lat: 18.44 N, Long: 80.24 E, Depth: 40 Km, Location: Mulugu, Telangana.”
This earthquake was an uncommon occurrence for Telangana, a state that rarely sees substantial seismic activity.

A 2.9-magnitude earthquake hits Karbi Anglong in Assam.
On the evening of November 30, Karbi Anglong in Assam was rocked by an earthquake of magnitude 2.9. The National Center for Seismology (NCS) reports that the tremor happened at approximately 2:40 AM and that its epicenter was 25 kilometers deep in the Karbi Anglong region.
A 5.8-magnitude earthquake strikes Jammu & Kashmir.
On November 28, a 5.8-magnitude earthquake struck Jammu and Kashmir, however no fatalities or property damage were reported. At 4:19 p.m., the earthquake was recorded.
According to officials, the epicentre of the earthquake was located in Afghanistan at a depth of 165 kilometers and latitudes of 36.49 degrees north and 71.27 degrees east.
