AN INITIATIVE OF GOVT. OF INDIA ON EDUCATION DURING THE PANDEMIC
With the deadly spread of coronavirus, the Govt. has taken some significant steps to prevent coronavirus. The Union Government declared a countrywide lockdown of all education sectors on 16th March 2020.
Several arrangements have been made by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), including internet websites and educational platforms via Direct to Home TV, student radios for learning to begin. For the online teaching-learning method, students used common social media platforms such as WhatsApp, Zoom, Google Meets, Telegram, Youtube live, Facebook live, etc. during the lockdown. The MHRD ICT project is a unique forum that puts all emerging tools together for online education.
e-Pathshala is an e-Learning software by NCERT for classes 1 to 12 in various languages. The software houses books, animations, audio, etc. targeted at teachers, educators and parents in several languages like Hindi, Urdu, and English.
National Repository of Open Educational Resources (NROER): The platform offers a variety of multilanguage tools for students and instructors, including books, immersive modules and videos, including a variety of games focused on STEM. Material is mapped to the 1-12 classroom programme, with matched instructor services.
e-PG Pathshala usually is meant for postgraduate students. During this lockout time, postgraduate students can use this portal for e-books, online courses and research materials. The benefit of this forum is that without needing the internet for the whole day, students can access these facilities
