BE 5528+ LNG Heavy‑Duty Truck
- First of its kind in India: Launched in September 2022, the BE 5528+ is India’s inaugural LNG-powered heavy commercial vehicle (HCV), with a GVW of 55 ton, 280 hp, and 1,000 Nm torque, powered by FPT Industrial’s N67 LNG engine.
- Range and emissions: Delivers a remarkable ~1,400 km range per fill, reduces CO₂ by up to 30%, particulate matter by 98%, SOₓ entirely, and NOₓ by 59% compared to diesel.
- Advanced R&D facility: Apart from existing state-of-the-art manufacturing facility with annual capacity of 10,000 trucks in a year, a dedicated EV manufacturing plant in Maharashtra is coming up—at an investment of Rs 3,500 crore—that will house R&D, motor and battery-pack units, and charging infrastructure, aiming to create 4,000+ jobs.
